Terrific Tuesdays! April 3, 2007

Filed under: Design Team News — Becky Adams @ 8:16 am

Here’s something fun for you!  Moments 2 Remember is starting something new called “Terrific Tuesdays.”  Each Tuesday, a new series of challenges will be posted and members can earn prizes and charms.  The charms are for your siggie lines and they are so cool!  I’m hosting the Lyrics Challenge.  Y’all come join in the fun!  Here’s the link:  http://www.moments-2-remember.com/messageboard/index.php?sid=c6d07a840d344935e94354cf73365f5e  You can also find a link to M2R in the right side menu under “My Design Teams.”

In other scrappy news, I’ve been paper scrapping like crazy.  I don’t know what’s gotten into me.  lol  I’ve done probably 10 paper pages in the last three days.  WOW!  I’ve even got one on my table that I’m working on right now.  I’m a little stumped with this one though.  It’s for the “Technique Challenge” at M2R and the technique is to use cardstock only.  Sounds easy enough, right?  Wrong.  I’ve become so accustomed to using patterned paper as a design element, that I can’t seem to function without it.  *sigh*  That’s okay though.  I like a good challenge and I refuse to let it beat me.  lol

Oh, another something fun!  Easter is right around the corner and we have big things planned at our church.  I’m really excited about it.  Our pastor, Keith Dickens, is a very creative and forward thinking man.  He’s always surprising us with new ideas and the crazy thing is that they work.  lol  The goal is to love people.  You’d think that would be so easy, but surprisingly it’s not.  I think that so many people go through their whole lives not knowing love and when they finally see it, they don’t know how to respond to it.  But love is not just a quick word…love is long-term.  Love is something you give unconditionally with every breath.  When people taste love, they want more.  That’s how we’re made.  We’re made to love and be loved.  So our pastor finds creative ways to show love to people and it’s amazing to see how beautifully people respond to that.  And since Easter is the one time of year that some people go to church, we’re ready to love BIG TIME!  lol

I don’t know if y’all know this, but I’m a singer.  I sang professionally for a long time and now I sing on the worship team at my church.  Music is a huge part of my life and I can’t imagine being without it.  Well, Easter Sunday, I’m going to be singing a song that is totally where my heart is.  The name of the song is “Revelation Song” and it comes from verses in the book of Revelation.  Most people think of that book as “hellfire and damnation.”  Yeah, there’s a lot of that in there.  But there’s also a lot more in Revelation.  The whole book is a crescendo of praise.  It starts out quiet and then it gets louder and louder.  By the end of the book, it’s a big praise-fest.  lol  I love that!  I’m going to try to get the song uploaded here on my blog somehow so that y’all can hear it.  It’s just beautiful!

There’s still time to get your name in the drawing for an RAK.  Just leave a comment telling me something that made you smile big last week.  I’ll be drawing a name tomorrow!  Be sure to check back.  :)  And thanks for letting me ramble.

Gotta Share the Joy! March 29, 2007

Y’all, I just have to share my happy news!!!  And for those of you who know me, I can just hear what you’re saying.  “Oh Lord, she’s pregnant again?!”  lol  Nope!  Not pregnant and very happy to not be pregnant.  :)  No, this news is very different and just as exciting to me.

 1.  I’ve been named Design Team Coordinator for Dragonflaire Studios, United States side!!!  Woohoo!!!!  The lovely & talented Francine will be heading up the European side.  I can’t begin to tell y’all how excited I am about this.  Maggie Lamarre is a very talented designer and a super lady…I’m honored to be a part of her team.  The new forum at Dragonflaire will be up soon.  We will also be offering some amazing classes soon.  So much in the works!  So exciting!

2.  Rodney got a job working for Coca-Cola as their warehouse manager!!!  Yay, Rodney!!!  I’m so proud of him!  He’s an excellent manager and his employees always love him and work very hard for him, so Coca-Cola will be very pleased.  And this is such a great company that we are just thrilled that he’ll be working for them.  The pay is great, the benefits are even better.  Woohoo!  The only problem is that the job is two hours away from our home and we definitely do not want to leave this area.  So we’ll move to the other side of our parish (Louisiana has parishes rather than counties).  That way the kids can still go to the same schools, we won’t have to move away from our family or our church family, & Rodney will be a little closer to his work.  So now we’re house hunting.  Fun!!!

Okay, that’s it.  Two very fun announcements about my life.  I’m so darned happy that I just have to share the love.  So now that I’m smiling really big, I’d like to see one of my friends out there smile really big too.  Leave a comment on this post and on Wednesday I’ll draw a winner for an RAK from me.  :)  But wait, let’s make a little bit interesting.  In your comment, tell me about something that made you smile really big this week.  It can be something simple like bubbles or something big like a new job.  Fun!  Can’t wait to hear what made you smile!  :)

So my friend, Sarah, is now the proud owner of her very own website/forum ScrapperGal!  Here’s the link:  www.scrappergal.com  Big congrats to you, Sarah!  She’s doing a new kind of design team that I’m really excited about…and honored to be a part of.  Rather than having a traditional design team, ScrapperGal has a “Cheer Team.”  We are there to encourage, inform and cheer on our fellow scrappers.  How fun is that?!  Y’all go check it out.  It’s a really fun bunch of scrappers over there (men included) and I think you’ll have a good time.  :)

Ah Travelling…. March 7, 2007

Filed under: Design Team News,Layouts, scrapbook, scrapbook scrap — Becky Adams @ 9:06 pm

I’m usually a pretty positive person.  I’m working really hard to stay that way now.  Everything seems to be crashing in around me.  Y’all already know about all the tragedy in my family recently.  Amazingly, it’s the little things that I haven’t mentioned that seem to really be dragging me down.  I’m not going to list them here, since that’s not what this blog is about.  But I’m thinking that the little things are really the same things that happen all the time and the big things are just making the little things seem bigger than they really are.  Does that make sense?  Probably not.  lol  Really, I just wanted to say that if any of y’all are still praying for me…please please please don’t stop.  It seems to be getting harder right now and I could really use the prayers.  Thank you!!!

And now for something completely different….

Have you ever travelled with six kids and a husband?  I highly recommend it.  For one, you get to see some really sweet moments that you might have missed otherwise.  Moments like your oldest and youngest sons holding hands.  Moments like your youngest daugther helping her younger brother open a bottle of juice.  Moments like your husband stealing glances at you thinking you don’t see it.  :)  Yeah, you get all the bickering that goes along with it…but who cares?!  It’s worth it for those sweet moments.

Here’s a fun page I made of me and my dh Rodney.  I snapped this pic while driving down the road.  lol.  I just loved using these fun papers by Denise Liemert!  If y’all wanna check out the full kit, click on the DL Creative Studio link on the right and look for Denise’s “Vogue” kit.  It’s a ton of fun!

If you click on the thumbnail image of this layout on the right menu, it should show you all of the credits.
